I started using Quickbooks for my company BPerryFilms after I heard so many reviews online about it. I did my own research to see what key features would help me with my needs as a user. When you first sign up you build your profile and get assisted by an agent through the onboarding process.

My recommendation is to sign up for Quickbooks Essential. Quickbooks Essentials is good for small companies who are looking to record data and send invoices to clients. Having access to many tools in one place versus using multiple platforms helps you keep organized and save you money in your pocket. Some key features within the platform that I enjoy is that it has a chart layout showing you Monthly, Quarterly, and Yearly expenses that are characterized based on what type of service it fits through your cash flow. You can implement taxes for those of you who have physical products. For those of you who have clients from different locations for your service-based business, you can check the mileage and get a tax deduction at the end of the year. On the Essentials Plan, you can add up to 3 users.

If you need more features such as Inventory Tracking, Project Profitability and access to 5 users sign up for Quickbooks Plus. As I mentioned before when you have everything in one system it helps you save time and prioritize your workload front and center. If you don't feel like dealing with the numbers there are opportunities to work with a tax professional that is through Quickbooks for an add-on fee.

Intergrations:

MailChimp:

MailChimp is a part of Intuit like Quickbooks. MailChimp, if you haven't heard of it before, is one of the largest and most popular email marketing software used. I use it within my company. MailChimp allows you to be as creative as you can with your post and even landing pages. When integrated with Quickbooks it feels like it takes email marketing to a whole new level. With this integration, you are able to promote your services through email campaigns. Emails are a more effective way to market to your segmented audience because they have invited themselves to get more information and exclusive offers by joining your email list. Emails come off as more personal and authentic marketing-wise compared to posting on a social media platform where it goes out to a mass load of people who may get distracted by other people’s offers in their feeds.

Acuity Scheduling:

Acuity Scheduling is a calendar app where people can book a service or call. There are many features that make this app powerful. You can customize intake forms and accept payments through Quickbooks and all of their information will be sent to you by the app and also through Quickbooks. It also records their contact information so you don't have to worry about manually entering it in

Stripe:

There are some platforms that don't allow Quickbooks to be the main channel of payment processors and that's where Stripe comes in. With this integration to Quickbooks, it will enable you to record customer data that was recorded on Stripe and won't have to manually type in information

Taxes:

A neat feature of Quickbooks is that it automatically connects to your TurboTax account. Less having to print out your information and put everything in one place. TurboTax is also an Intuit software that is used by many taxpayers and accountants due to its ease of use. If you want to do your taxes on your own you can do that if you need support you can pay for a tax professional. No more having to worry about errors and not paying to correct the amount of taxes having the concerns of getting a call from the IRS for performing certain tasks.
